On October 26th, 2008, the Boys and Girls Club will hold their annual cycling challenge event. This is a major fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club and we’re excited to have our own team this year.
We’re inviting all of you (who can ride the 31 miles at an easy pace) to join our team. It costs $100 to signup, and all the money will go to charity. We’re working on getting everyone on our team tshirts. To signup, go here and make sure you select “cVillain/Spicy Bear Media” as your affiliation.

We had over 2,200 votes in the Choose Your Charity nomination post. That’s amazing! Thank you for visiting our site and voting for your charity. Well, despite the disqualifications, the bickering and the insanity, we have our final contestants:

Congratulations for making it to round #2! The winner of the final voting tally will receive all of the proceeds from the party. Hopefully we can raise more than $2,000 this time because we are partnered with 106.1 The Corner and Charlottesville Sports and Social Club.Now, here is how round two will work:
- You can vote online and the voting will be available on this post until Midnight before the final party on May 25th. If you buy a ticket (ticket purchase available soon and at the door) and come to the party, you will be allowed to vote again.
- We will count the votes with the following formula: 1x the online poll votes and 25x the party attendee vote.

Do you recall the Alien Space Ship invasion from April 20th? In the name of cVillain, I offered myself to the aliens and have recently returned to earth. While they couldn’t probe me because of my thunder and lightning powers, we did sit down to plan the next party.
I explained that cVillains and 106.1 The Corner had OFFICIALLY raised over $2,100 for the HIV/AIDS Services Group! They decided they wanted to be involved in our next party. While the ideas for an “Illegal Alien” party on Cinco de Maio were quickly shot down due to fears of the Feds and their fallen Area 51 comrades (and some earthly, political correctness issues), we decided we wanted to throw a party in which all aliens were invited.
The details require top secret government clearance, but will soon be released to the public. We are leaking the date of the party: May 25th! Trust us, the party is going to be amazing.
This time, we will let YOU pick the charity and will give all event proceeds to that charity! Initial submissions start now and end on Saturday, May 3rd at Noon. We hope to raise more than $2,100 for the charity of choice.

Overall, our pub crawl was an amazing success. We had well over 100 paid attendees and various others join our crawl. Things got a little disorganized at times, but overall, we’re pretty sure things went well. Between free t-shirts, way too many car bombs and smiling faces, we couldn’t have been more proud. Thanks for everyone for coming out. We have some sweet plans for a Cinco de Maio party!
We don’t have our final count yet on the amount of money raised, but it looks like we are going to raise close to $2,000 for AIDS/HIV Services Group. YOU GUYS ARE FREAKING AMAZING.
Thanks to Zinc, Oxo, Mono Loco, Zo Ca Lo and X-Lounge for hosting us. Next time (and you bars know who you are) when we tell you we’re bringing 100+ people to your bar, you better be prepared! I think you lost us for future pub crawls, but we will certainly be back to those who treated us well!

We just got official confirmation that we are having a pub crawl for St. Patty’s Day in honor of HIV/AIDS Services Group. We’ve also partnered with 106.1 The Corner to promote the event. Purchase tickets here, or wait and pay $20 at the door.
All ticket sale proceeds and a % of restaurant sales will go to the HIV/AIDS Services Group.
We’ve also lined up some sexy, green hats that we ask you to wear throughout the event. They will give you special treatment around town during the event!
Event Details:
When: Saturday, March 15th @ 7PM until 1AM.
Where: Starts at Zinc (to pick up hats, wristbands, schedules and drink information) and moves to the other bars listed below. You must show up at Zinc to pick up your stuff!
How Much: $16 Online or $20 at The Door. ALL PROCEEDS GO TO CHARITY. Please buy now so we can plan accordingly.
Why: Because you get to party with 106.1 The Corner & cVillains, probably the coolest people on earth, and you do it for charity.
