Thanks to your input for Halloween, we have a pretty scary list of things. Overall, we expect this weekend to be insanely busy. Honestly, this weekend is going to be pretty chill and we don’t just mean that literally. Importantly, this is your last weekend to go to the City Market. Next week is chock full of Halloween, movie festival and other festive things, so this weekend looks like it’s going to be slow. MUSE has your arts and music coverage; STYLE keeps you looking fine.
In addition to our normal wine tastings at Market Street, Beer Run and Crush, we’ve got some horse races, pumpkin carving and a chocolate festival. We’ve got a serious weekend ahead of us. It’s almost too serious in that there is no way you could possibly do all the things. From music festivals, to art, to sheep dog trials, we’ve got the simple way to preview the weekend. Oh and 72 degree days and 50 degree nights are forecast all weekend long. We doubt the claim that 6,000 people will show up, but if you go there, make sure you get a chance to visit as many booths as you can!

Since it’s summertime and the students have started their return to Charlottesville, bars should be triphopping this weekend. On Thursday, you can attend an all day Government Services Fair on the downtown mall. While you won’t get to ride the Ferris Wheel, you can oodle at a bunch of local government agencies, goggle at various police and fire department vehicles (hopefully they bring the armored personnel carrier), watch the SWAT team kick ass and heckle some live debaters. If you are heading West Bound on I-64, you need to expect some traffic delays. VDOT is shutting down one of the lanes near milepost 108, just past Crozet. [VDOT]
