A little birdie sends in an article about UVA Gossip sites.… I always wonder why the Cav Daily staff can’t produce better articles. They totally miss some obvious things. We discover the “anonymous editors” who run StreakTheLawn.com and help out the Cav Daily with a deeper look into those gossip sites.
The first thing they missed:

ATTENTION! UVa just purchased 4 new television sets and DISH Network international programming to give students non American-biased news. Are you serious? They issued a press releases for this? What a waste. We can already get all these channels and more on the net. If UVa kids are interested enough in unbiased news, shouldn’t they already be reading/watching those sources… The one question I have is, do they get Playboy TV en Espanol? If UVa really does want to help homesick foreign students, what better way to comfort them?

Enrollment is about 70 percent in-state, 30 percent out-of-state, and comes from 48 states and 109 countries. I want to see someone name 109 countries. With their eyes closed and hands tied behind their backs. No cheating! Honor code!
The undergraduate student body is 55 percent female. (Cue up the whip-crack sound effect.)
The student body is about 25 percent minority, and the first year class is a third minority. Ahh. And now I’d like to have a moment on my soapbox. You know, there’s no way Jesus could have been “Caucasian.” And in the future, everyone will be a once-minority. I find this comforting, knowing haters are at the bottom of the intellectual evolutionary tract. Off the soapbox.
Of the University’s total budgetary needs, 9 percent comes from the state. I believe this is a 1 percent increase, but it still sounds like not much. Someone, please elaborate.

Nothing. apparently.
The students ripped out a 120 pound statue in Blacksburg and were charged with felony destruction of property. The judge reduced the trail to a misdemeanor and 200 hours of community service. This means they don’t have to go to jail.
Suggestion: Destroy more VT property. Why? Eternal fame > 200 hours of community service.
Note: Not sure if this is the actual statue or not.

I have fond memories of improvisation drills in drama classes, in my younger years– back when improv was for fun and not something you’re forced to do every time someone recognizes you in this city and you have no idea how you met them or what their name is. “Hey… you! I’m doing great! How are you doing?”
