As we near our one year anniversary, we woke up to a wonderful surprise: cVillain’s own Lys and Wingnuts are having babies. Between spring fever, boring bachelorette parties and vegetarian love, it’s a good week to read over. Don’t forget our must reads on being single, Charlottesville’s secret spots and the DMV!

April Fools week. Booya. What a better way to start out that getting all of you with a sweet April Fools joke? We know we got a lot of you!
We also saw a lot of restaurant action, reviewed The Local, named our birdie Scowly, got into some hot discussion about babies and found Jenna Bush at a local restaurant. Don’t believe me? Read the week in review to see what you missed!

Short and sweet this week, kids.
We learned about everyone’s story behind the name. Mine? Lightning bolts and drinking contests, need I say more?
La Grape opens up the race can, and needless to say, things get racy. We respond with an African adoption later in the week.
Food wise, we review the New Deli, talk Greek salads, have some free tots at Boheme and figure out cures for hangovers.
Rumor wise, we thought the Hardware Store lease was finalized, that perhaps, an Apple store was coming to Charlottesville.
While we added some recycling bins, we also burned a thousand or so acres of forest.
Don’t forget Layla’s introduction, the “worse than before” Daily Progress revamp, and the highway shooter (first account, first suspect arrested and second suspect arrested). Cheers! [pic]

What a week! We had everything from dead horses to spam. Between a fully functional powered birdie, to an ongoing birdie recount, the launch of cvilleMUSE.com, and a new private club, I’d say this week is as exciting as any week. Let me know if you think I missed anything!

It was a week of confusions, tears and spring fever. Maybe it was the 70+ degree weather, the darkness on the mall or the drugs in the drinking water… I don’t know. All I know is this week, much like other weeks was wild, cvillainous, and wonderful. We celebrated with an awesome pub crawl and a farewell to Lilith.
We begin the week with things out of the ordinary. From darkness on the downtown mall, to Charlottesville’s potentially drugged drinking water, to the not-so-smart Kentucky lawmaker who wants to ban anonymous internet posting, confusion ran rampant through our parts. As typical with cVillains, we quickly realized that our confusion would best be resolved in a battle of wits and strength. »Read More

Ah, yes the week of daylight savings time (the hidden Armageddon). Some dude told me daylight savings time was created to make more money for the business folk. I have no idea what he was talking about, but I am sure we had a great week. Between confessions, snakes and tornadoes, things were pretty intense. We cooled down a little with some cucumber lemonade at The Box and some various new scenes. Make sure you check out our CVS debate and don’t forget that China and Charlottesville are in a Jell-O match of death. Happy reading. »Read More

Ah, the last week to feel winters wrath. I’m glad it’s gone. It sure did get cold last week; down to the teens! I digress.
Last week we reached a new monthly record. At the end of February, despite being a short month, we had over 10,000 absolutely unique visitors and 140,000 page views! Between working an extra day (because God forgot it) and our heated debate over spamming, things were mighty fun this week. I think everyone was pissed that we have to keep waiting for spring to show her sexy little legs.
We sacrificed Tofu to the spring gods in hopes that spring would come faster.

I’m going to try a new format for week in review. Let me know if you like it.
Ah, the week after Valentine’s day means a lot for people. For love-bird couples it means spending less money; for singles it means a return to happiness after a momentary commercial induced lapse to depression. For cVillains, it meant waking up to Mas’ owner giving us the lowdown on how to order cocktails. While we are no strangers to food, we thought it appropriate to discuss the merits of eating meat and decided that no one really cares what you eat and everyone can have their own opinion. Boring, I know. The rest of the week was more exciting.

We did a major overhaul of the site this week and we appreciate everyone’s continued interest in our site. We understand the colors are a little harsh, but we think everything overall should be better. Besides hell breaking loose, we get brow beaten by law students for watching a tazing, obsess over Valentine’s Day and bitch about rudeness of smokers.
We did cry twice this week– once about Kiki closing and once about the loss of one of our favorite baristas from Cafe Cubano. Things did take a turn for the better as we pranced around in our fur coats and decided that serious drug dealing can happen on the Downtown Mall. Enjoy with a Snack Pack. »Read More
