‘So Inappropriate’: Whoopi Goldberg Angers ‘The View’ Fans after Asking If Her Co-host Is Pregnant on Live TV

Whoopi and her co-shots were discussing the decision by Mitt Romney, the senator of Utah, not to run for re-election in 2024 when the actress posed a surprising question to Alyssa. “Are you pregnant?” Whoopi abruptly asked Alyssa in the middle of the discussion.
Whoopi’s co-hosts burst into laughter when the actress paused the question. Alyssa also laughed in shock and replied no, she wasn’t pregnant. “You can’t say that while my mother-in-law is here! She’s been dying for me to get pregnant,” she added.
Joy asked Whoopi why she would think Alyssa was pregnant. An apologetic Whoopi replied that she just felt a vibe that made her think Alyssa was expectant. However, Alyssa wondered if her tummy may have made the actress think she was pregnant. She said:
“I’m very open to being pregnant soon. I am not blessed to be pregnant yet, but my husband and I are thinking about it.”

Sunny asked Alyssa if she was really sure she wasn’t pregnant, to which she answered, “I’m pretty sure.” However, Alyssa said she would take a test when she got home just to be 100 percent sure she wasn’t expectant.

Sara revealed that Alyssa and her husband, Justin Griffin, were trying to get pregnant. When Whoopi heard this, she was very apologetic for asking the question. “Forgive me. I’m just, I just, you have this, I see a glow (…), But please forgive me, please forgive me,” she begged.

What Was Whoopi’s Comment about the Holocaust?
Whoopi said on “The View” in 2022 that the Holocaust wasn’t about race but about man’s inhumanity to man. The actress dismissed race in the Holocaust, noting that it was about two groups of white people.

She added that the Holocaust was about how people treated each other and not about whether one was white, black, or Jewish. Whoopi’s statement angered many, including the Jewish community. Organizations such as The Auschwitz Memorial and StopAntisemitism.org condemned her words.

The president of ABC News, Kim Godwin, suspended Whoopi from “The View” for two weeks and said her statement was painful and wasn’t right at all. The actress later issued an apology by sharing a statement on X, formerly Twitter, saying that the Holocaust was equally about race as it was about human’s inhumanity to human.
