Days of Our Lives Recap: Wednesday, August 2 – Abe Moves Out – Sloan’s Confession – Chanel & Talia’s Dinner

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, August 2, reveals that Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) gave Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) updates on his second match ending in a bad date. Since Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) had a bad date of her own, she wound up commiserating with Li.

Once Wendy realized Li was giving Melinda another chance and going out with her again tonight, she grew concerned.

Wendy warned that Melinda might’ve orchestrated this in hopes of making another attempt to get a recorded confession.

However, Li remained upbeat and let Wendy know this would be a good opportunity for her to enjoy some private time with Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams).

At the hospital, Tripp caught up with Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols), who heard about Li’s disastrous date with Melinda and the fact that he was making it hard for Tripp to find time alone with Wendy.

Although Steve offered up his place and suggested he could make himself scarce along with Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans), that wasn’t really what Tripp had in mind.

Once Tripp returned home, he surprised Wendy with the news that he’d booked a room at the Salem Inn for them. Wendy gave Tripp a kiss and ran to pack a bag, so she seemed excited about their romantic night together.

Meanwhile, Abe Carver (James Reynolds) didn’t see anything that looked familiar to him at Paulina Price’s (Jackée Harry) apartment – and he turned down all the foods she’d prepared since he didn’t have much of an appetite.

Paulina eventually suggested watching a romantic movie and planted a big kiss on Abe, but he pulled back in horror and wondered “what the hell” was going on.

That led to Paulina apologizing for coming on too strong and choosing the wrong way to attempt to jog Abe’s memory.

Since Paulina was still a stranger to Abe, she excused herself to cry in the other room.

After Abe called Steve and got him to come over, Paulina answered the door. Abe admitted he needed a place to stay since he just wasn’t comfortable living there with Paulina.

Although Paulina insisted this was Abe’s home and urged him to give it more time, Abe was adamant about leaving and hoped he could count on Steve as a friend. Steve agreed to let Abe stay with him as long as he needed and took him back to his guest room.

Outside the pub on Wednesday’s Days episode, Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) ran into Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) and mentioned how Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty) opened her genetic test results in some kind of mix-up.

Eric was taken aback since Sloan didn’t mention anything about opening them herself. Nicole also thought it was strange that Sloan received her results at all since her own weren’t ready yet, but Eric guessed it was just part of the mistake.

After Colin Bedford’s (Jasper Newman) sentencing, Sloan grumbled to Melinda about the judge throwing the book at him and giving him 20 years in prison. Melinda pointed out Colin still had the possibility of parole and tried to lift Sloan’s spirits.

Once Melinda talked to Sloan about her awful date with Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) and her interest in Li, she could tell something was bothering Sloan.

That led to Sloan asking if she could tell Melinda something in total confidence. Sloan stressed the fact that Melinda couldn’t tell another soul, so Melinda promised she’d keep the secret.

After Sloan admitted this was about Nicole and mentioned her pregnancy, she got a call from Eric about meeting up to talk.

Melinda complained about Sloan leaving her hanging, but Sloan acted like it wasn’t important and rushed off.

At home on Wednesday’s DOOL show, Sloan told Eric about Colin’s 20-year prison sentence before asking what he wanted to talk about.

Eric brought up his encounter with Nicole and wondered why Sloan didn’t tell him about picking up her genetic testing results.

Sloan downplayed it as a simple blunder, but Eric thought it was odd that Sloan didn’t look at the name on the envelope first.

Once Sloan argued that was the nurse’s job, she pointed out that she was stressed over their baby and just wanted to make sure he or she was OK.

Sloan eventually lashed out at Eric since this was starting to feel like an interrogation, but she quickly apologized and blamed it on how upset she was over Colin.

Eric decided he’d been insensitive and talked about how they’d were a family with their baby now, so Sloan looked guilty over his shoulder as they hugged.

At Small Bar on Wednesday’s Days episode, Li smiled as he joined Melinda at a table. Melinda mentioned that she’d ordered them their favorite bottle of wine, but Li flashed back to Wendy’s earlier warning about Melinda potentially setting him up again.

That led to Li pretending he forgot about something he had to do. Melinda looked disappointed once Li rushed off and left her all alone.

Back at Paulina’s place, Nicole showed up hoping she could see Abe. Paulina informed Nicole that she’d have to go elsewhere for that since Abe moved out!

In the town square on Wednesday’s Days episode, Talia Hunter (Aketra Sevillian) was upset since Colin told her she belonged in prison just as much as he did.

Chanel Dupree (Ravens Bowens) felt there was a reason ruthless Colin got 20 years behind bars while Talia was doing community service.

Although Talia had a lot to make up for, she was also a victim of Colin’s emotional abuse.

Talia eventually offered to buy Chanel dinner and admitted that she missed her. Chanel confessed that Talia’s replacement at the bakery “sucked,” so she missed her as both an employee and as a friend.

Over dinner together, Talia mentioned something about catfish and reminded Chanel of Paulina’s homecoming for Abe.

That was one of the dishes Paulina had prepared, so Chanel hoped things were going well – though she looked nervous for her mom.
