Emmerdale Mack future ‘sealed’ in shock death, Chloe exit twist and Aaron romance

Emmerdale’s Mackenzie Boyd is currently being held hostage in an abandoned warehouse as his life hangs in the balance.

Earlier in the week, Mack had an argument with wife Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and told her he wouldn’t be in touch. Unbeknownst to Charity, Mack was abducted by Chloe Harris’ (Jessie Elland) father.

Damon Harris (Robert Beck), better known under the alias Harry, is keeping Mack bound and gagged to make him pay for his treatment of Chloe. Although she seemed initially on board with her dad’s plan, Chloe quickly had a change of heart.

But despite her best attempt to set Mack free in Friday’s episode (December 22), Harry returned and cornered him with several henchmen. With Mack’s fate likely to be sealed on Christmas Day, here is what the character could be facing in the near future.

Shock death

One way this is likely to end is with Mack’s death. He is currently battered and bruised after being held hostage for nearly one week, with Harry even angrier following his escape attempt.

Speculating Mack’s fate online, one person penned: “What’s Harry’s end game with Mack? Can only end in one of two ways. Let’s him go or kills him. What’s the point of this?”

Another added: “What I heard is that Mack dies and I think Chloe’s dad kills him. Someone else asked: “Could Harry kill Mack?” While a fourth said: “Even if mack don’t die christmas day i still think he’s a goner in the new year.”

Chloe exit

In a shocking twist, it could be Chloe who dies in a bid to save Mack. The two have had their issues in recent months, with Chloe desperate to start a new life with Reuben away from Mack.

But as she unintentionally got him into this situation, Chloe could make the ultimate sacrifice to protect the father of her child. “What if it’s Chloe that dies and not Mack?” asked one person.

Someone responded: “I think it will be, she’ll try and stop her father and end up taking the bullet. And that will conveniently clear the way for Mac and Charity to bring Reuben up together.”

Another theorised: “Chloe – she’s going to die saving him isn’t she ??” Echoing this, another shared: “Calling it now; Mack runs, Dad shoots, Chloe gets hit, she dies , Merry Christmas.”

Prison twist

The likelihood of everyone coming out of this situation alive is next to none. And some think kidnapper Harry could end up in the firing line. One suggested: “Chloe won’t die but Damon might.”

A second speculated: “Surely it’ll be Harry/Damon then we’ll end up with the co-parenting of Chloe and Mack/Charity and a reset of everything with all past misdemeanours forgotten?” If Mack ends up delivering a fatal blow to Harry, he could be facing prison time.

Daily Star quizzed one of the world’s most popular artificially intelligent “creative” tools Bard AI to see if Mack could end up behind bars for Harry’s murder. The program responded: “Emmerdale is known for its dramatic twists and turns. This dramatic confrontation could boil over and involve violence.”

It added: “The fate of Mack and whether it leads him behind bars depends on if he kills Harry. His rivalry with Harry, simmering with suspicion and mistrust, could escalate, taking an unexpected turn which could land him behind bars.”

Aaron romance

If Mack does somehow escape Harry’s clutches, it might not be long until he gets up to his old tricks again. With Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) back in the village, the two could begin a sordid affair.

Following the car crash which saw Chloe plummet of a cliff, fans suspected Mack could turn his attentions to Aaron. Mack and Aaron had struck up a flirty relationship before he left for Italy and found new boyfriend Marco, but the pair have now split.

In a twist of fate, could the original plot finally play out? One Reddit user penned: “The original plan was for Mack to be Aaron’s love interest. He was cheeky, a flirt, bisexual and a rogue… but they dropped the idea for some reason. Could he get back to being the fun-loving, trouser-dropping, ‘Oh officer, Aaron and I have just been having sex in that field’ Mack as he once was?”

Another added: “My theory is that this week is essentially a hard reset to write Aaron back into the village. It is probably no coincidence that Aaron is back in the same week that the Chloe/Mack/Charity debacle is set to be resolved. Unlike the Lydia storyline, Mack and Aaron’s fates have, potentially, always been connected narratively.”
