Emmerdale spoilers: Nasty Aaron publicly brands Ethan ‘boring and needy’ after having sex with him

Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) has been a bit of a handful since he returned to Emmerdale – and that’s putting it extremely mildly. He’s been vile to his mum, Chas (Lucy Pargeter), and bullied Vinny (Bradley Johnson).

The only person he seems to enjoy being around is his little sister Eve (Bella James), who brings out the gentle and caring side of his personality that’s otherwise buried very deeply at the moment.

Another person he clashed with recently was vicar Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin), who defended Chas when Aaron was being horrible to her. So in Tuesday (December 19)’s episode, Aaron took his revenge on Charles.

He did this in a particularly cruel and calculated way by sleeping with Charles’s son, Ethan (Emile John). Following this it was clear that Ethan was quite smitten with Aaron, who pretended that he felt the same. They arranged to meet in the Woolpack later.

There, Ethan told Aaron he thought there’d been ‘chemistry’ between them. Aaron led him on – until Charles came in. Now with an audience of Charles and Chas, Aaron revealed his true thoughts.

Nothing would ever happen again between him and Ethan, he said. It had just been sex and it wasn’t that good, he added, before calling Ethan ‘Boring and needy and desperate for love.’

This all had the desired effect. Ethan was humiliated, Charles was fuming and Chas was devastated that her son had been so cruel.

Paddy (Dominic Brunt), who had also been watching events unfold, knew exactly what Aaron’s agenda was. ‘He’s feeding off your reactions,’ he told Chas, pointing out that everything Aaron has done has been to get some kind of revenge against her. He blames her for Liv (Isobel Steele)’s death, partly because of the circumstances of how it happened but mainly because he’s full of anger and needs to blame someone.

Paddy said the only thing that would work would be to make Aaron see that they won’t indulge his behaviour any more and they’re done with him for good.

So Chas went to see her son at the scrapyard and told him she thought his behaviour in the pub earlier had been ‘sick and pathetic.’ She told him that she and Paddy were done with him and from now on he has to keep away from both of them – and away from Eve.

‘She’s my sister!’ he protested, clearly hurt at the thought of losing another sister and the one person he currently connects with.

Chas wasn’t budging. ‘This family is done with you,’ she insisted.

Will this be the wake-up call Aaron needs to change his ways?
