Emmerdale star Charley Webb took her and Matthew Wolfenden's three children to watch him in Elf The Musical at London's Dominion Theatre weeks after announcing their marriage split
Charley Webb has taken her kids to watch their dad Matthew Wolfenden in Elf The Musical just weeks after announcing their marriage split.
It comes after the former real-life Emmerdale couple announced their split and the actor was spotted kissing his co-star Heather Scott-Martin.
In a statement, Charley, who played Debbie Dingle in the ITV soap, wrote at the time: “It is with love and respect that Matthew and I have decided to separate.” She added: “We remain friends and our priority is the love for our children. For their sake we would appreciate privacy at this time. C x.”
Matthew shared the same message on his Instagram story signing off with “M”. He has since been forced to deny claims that he cheated on Charley with Heather in a scathing post on Instagram. Despite the drama, Charley and the kids – Buster, 13, Bowie, eight, and Ace, four – attended the West End production of the widely-loved musical.
In an Instagram post, Charley revealed she took the boys to London’s Dominion Theatre, where Matthew is playing Buddy the Elf. Along with a photo of the stage, she said: “Feeling Christmassy. The kids are having the time of their life watching their dad.” After being compelled to reject claims of infidelity, Matthew took to Instagram to clear the air to his 198,000 followers.
In an article featuring a picture of him and Heather hand-in-hand, Matthew was quick to declare, “Just to set the record straight.” “This (so called) reporting is an out and out LIE!” he expressed, denying allegations that he began dating his Elf co-star prior to parting ways with Charley. He requested to be left in peace, writing: “Can you leave us alone now?” He also said: “Glad to get that off my chest! And if you want to come see us both in Elf – click the link for tickets!”
On another occasion, Matthew and Heather were spotted strolling arm-in-arm through the streets of London. The two even stopped for a mid-street smooch, completely unaware of people watching. An observer speaking to The Sun at the time described the pair’s outing as reminiscent of “they looked like honeymooners or loved-up teenagers”.
