Former Emmerdale star Charley Webb spent the evening supporting Matthew Wolfenden in his new role, which comes weeks after the end of their marriage.

The pair met on the set of the ITV soap, and Matthew, 43, proposed to the 35-year-old in 2009. The soap stars, known for their roles as Debbie Dingle and David Metcalfe, have three children together: Buster, 12, Bowie, 6, and Ace, 3.

Back in November, Charley and Matthew shared a joint statement on Instagram to confirm their separation, which presented a united front.

‘It is with love and respect that Matthew and I have decided to separate. We remain friends and our priority is the love for our children. For their sake, we would appreciate privacy at this time,’ Charley’s post read.

While Matthew, posted an almost-identical paragraph but swapped his own name for Charley’s name.

Recently, Charley was showing support for Matthew as she took their children to see him in the production of Elf the Musical.

The actress shared a handful of pictures on her social media capturing the evening, with one image showing Charley and her children in the car, and another with them in the theatre.

‘Kids are loving life watching their dad’, she wrote.

‘We are feeling very Christmasy’.

Matthew left his role as David in Emmerdale at the end of last month.

The shop owner chose to depart life in the Dales and move to London, where his daughter Amba and her mum Priya (Fiona Wade) currently live.

David’s decision came after he learnt son Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) was in a relationship with Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins), David’s ex.

After spending weeks believing he was going to reunite with Vic, David couldn’t deal with the betrayal and packed his bags, failing to fix his relationship with Jacob before he went.
