Emmerdale’s Kim Tate prison twist ‘sealed’ as she makes killer confession

Emmerdale's Kim Tate conspired with Cain Dingle to keep the circumstances of Craig Reed's death a secret but could be facing a stint behind bars after confessing all to Will Taylor

Emmerdale’s Kim Tate confessed to husband Will that she played a vital role in Craig’s murder.

In October, Craig was found dead on the grounds of Home Farm. During a series of flashforwards, it was revealed that Craig was attacked by Sam, who believed he’d killed him.

But while Kim was out for a ride, Craig attempted to pull her off the horse which caused it to lash out. In doing so, it kicked Craig in the face and left him unconscious on the ground.

As Kim was about to call an ambulance, Cain approached her and convinced her not to call the police, claiming it would be justice for Lydia after she was raped by Craig.

After Kim confessed to Lydia, she told Sam the truth about what really happened to Craig. Struggling to cope, Lydia left the village earlier this month and confirmed she wouldn’t be returning for Christmas.

During Wednesday’s episode (December 20) of the ITV soap, Kim attempted to give Sam his bonus. But it didn’t go down well as he asked: “How much do you think it’ll cost to keep me quiet?”

Kim insisted the money wasn’t about that, before Sam began blaming her for Lydia’s absence. As Kim apologised, Sam responded: “No you’re not. You’re just scared I might tell people what you did.”

Unaware Will was listening, Kim was stunned when he demanded: “I think you better tell me everything.” She then confessed all, insisting there was nothing she could do to help.

Now that Kim has revealed her dark secret, Daily Star has quizzed one of the world’s most popular artificially intelligent “creative” tools Bard AI to see whether she could end up going to prison.

The program responded: “Whether Kim ends up in prison is a complex. Even if Kim’s actions appear suspicious, concrete evidence like witnesses or forensic proof would be needed for a conviction, and it was concluded that Craig was killed by a horse.”

It noted that despite Kim’s journey from “ruthless villain to a nuanced character with moments of vulnerability,” the writers could choose to “explore the consequences of her actions by sending her to prison.”
