General Hospital Recap: Thursday, August 3 – Cody Blocked from Sasha – Kristina Befriends Esme – Ava Caught Snooping
General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, August 3, reveals that Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) found Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) hiding out from work and Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) in the stables, so they wound up discussing Sasha Gilmore’s (Sofia Mattsson) downward spiral.
Cody didn’t think Sasha belonged at Ferncliff and struggled to understand how she could become a trainwreck so fast.
Although Cody considered the possibility that Sasha was back on drugs or that somebody spiked her drink, Brook Lynn pointed out she had a history of mental illness.
Brook Lynn felt like denying that wouldn’t help Sasha – and she didn’t agree with Cody’s concerns about Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) either.
Since Brook Lynn believed Gladys truly loved Sasha, that was good enough for her.
Once Cody was alone, he called Ferncliff to get the visiting hours and hoped he could see Sasha.
The person on the other end of the line revealed that Gladys didn’t put Cody on the list, so he fumed despite not being surprised.
In the Quartermaine kitchen, Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) admitted to “Eddie Maine” aka Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) that she used to be a wild child who snuck in nightclubs.
However, Olivia gave up her days of partying once she got pregnant with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna).
“Eddie” thought that was tragic, but Olivia wouldn’t trade her son for anything in the world.
After Olivia started talking about the names of the clubs she used to visit and how she made friends with the bouncers, Brook Lynn appeared nearby.
The sight of Olivia and “Eddie” bonding left Brook Lynn looking hopeful.
When Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) arrived at Kelly’s with Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) and Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay), he teased Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) for wearing an apron and helping Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) behind the counter.
Once Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) appeared, she gushed over Ace and couldn’t believe it had taken this long to meet her little cousin.
Kristina was kind to Esme, who picked up on the tension as Kristina interacted with Josslyn.
After Kristina left, Esme questioned what the beef was about, so Spencer explained that Kristina was on Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) team while Josslyn was on Carly’s.
Josslyn seemed irritated over Esme’s questions, but Esme assured Spencer that she wasn’t trying to set Joss off.
It’s just that Kristina treated Esme like an actual human being, so she appreciated that.
Once Esme wrapped up her lunch break and took Ace back to daycare, Spencer admitted to Josslyn that he felt kind of sorry for Esme.
Josslyn couldn’t forget Esme’s past, but Spencer felt that it wasn’t as weird for him to be around Esme because of Ace.
That said, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) was Spencer’s priority, so Josslyn asked why he wasn’t with her right now.
Spencer thought he should give Trina space, especially considering Portia Robinson’s (Brook Kerr) growing disdain for him.
Josslyn, on the other hand, felt that Trina needed Spencer and suggested they should just keep their distance from Portia when they were together.
At home, Molly Lansing-Davis (Brooke Anne Smith) and TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) welcomed a surrogacy matching professional named Claire Brown, who asked questions to help them hire a surrogate.
During the meeting, Kristina suddenly barged in complaining about Josslyn being “such a bitch.”
When Kristina realized what was going on, she played up what amazing parents TJ and Molly would be before making a quick exit.
Once Kristina was gone, Claire confirmed that Molly and TJ wanted the traditional surrogacy using the surrogate’s egg rather than using a donor egg from a family member.
Claire said she’d put together a list of candidates and get back to them, so Molly was surprised over the process being easier than she thought.
After Claire departed, Molly ranted about Kristina’s interruption and felt that it sealed the deal in her mind about using a surrogate’s egg.
TJ and Molly hoped that by this time next year, they might have a baby on the couch with them.
Back at Kelly’s, Kristina suggested to Spencer that instead of dumping his brother off at daycare, he should take Ace and Esme to the park.
Josslyn argued that Spencer had plans this afternoon, but Spencer ended up going with Kristina’s suggestion.
At GH, Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) was there seeking Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) updates for Sonny, but Trina didn’t have much news.
Since Dex could tell Trina needed to open up, he hoped that she could consider him Josslyn’s proxy and share her feelings.
Trina admitted that Curtis might never walk again and that he’d been refusing to see her ever since he found out.
After Trina told the complicated story of confirming Curtis was her bio dad, Dex offered a new perspective.
Dex felt that Curtis was probably struggling with the idea that he couldn’t be Trina’s protector. It didn’t matter to Trina, but Dex bet that it mattered to Curtis.
Dex’s advice was to let Curtis know she was there for him and then give him some space, so Trina seemed to think he had the right idea.
In Curtis’ hospital room, Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) showed up and mentioned that Curtis had turned away his physical therapist.
After Austin said maybe Curtis could go tomorrow, he pointed out that it was a very important component of Curtis’ recovery.
Austin also explained that when Curtis left GH, he would go to a rehabilitation facility for the next phase.
Once Curtis was alone, he threw something across the room in frustration just before Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) entered.
Stella told Curtis that she was sorry and hugged him before offering a reminder about the family that wanted to support him.
Curtis argued that he wouldn’t walk, run or dance, so he wasn’t the same person he was a week ago. Although Curtis didn’t think he could do this, Stella did her best to lift Curtis’ spirits.
In a moment alone, Curtis poked and tugged on his legs as tears streamed down his face.
In Austin’s office, Ava Jerome (Maura West) grilled him about Gordon Stevens (Maurice Hall) and assumed Austin eliminated him.
Austin assured Ava that unlike Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) and the people they worked for, he’d never do anything like that.
After Austin stepped out of the room, Ava snooped through his private files and determined that Gordon was never an official patient.
Austin wasn’t happy about Ava digging around when he returned, but he confirmed that Mason forced him to treat Gordon.
Once Austin started worrying about how much Ava had spilled to Sonny, she confessed to telling Sonny that Austin helped her.
Austin worried what that meant and asked if she told Sonny what she did to Nikolas.
General Hospital spoilers say Austin and Ava’s alliance will come with more complications, so stay tuned.
