General Hospital Recap: Wednesday, August 2 – Sonny’s Special Delivery – Carly’s Horrible Call – Cyrus Unsettles Austin

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, August 2, reveals that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) met with Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) in their hotel room, but Laura informed him that he wouldn’t be needed for the remainder of the trip.

Valentin assumed this was because of Kevin’s disdain for him, but Kevin denied that.

It’s just that Valentin wasn’t necessary since Nikolas Cassadine (last played by Adam Huss) wasn’t in Chechnya, where Valentin had been useful in helping with the language barrier.

Now Laura felt that Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) needed Valentin back in Port Charles.

Laura also asked Valentin to check on Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez), but Valentin didn’t think Spencer would approve.

At the Quartermaine mansion, “Eddie Maine” aka Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) was hungover after a night of bar-hopping, which ended with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Falconeri) bringing him there.

Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) spoke to “Eddie” alone and urged him to see that he was too old for this type of behavior, but he wound up wondering how any part of him would want to marry such an uptight shrew.

Later, Leo Quartermaine (Easton Rocket Sweda) realized Olivia was upset after an interaction with “Eddie,” so he asked why “Eddie” made her sad when she was just trying to help.

“Eddie” eventually softened toward Olivia and wondered if her offer to make breakfast was still on the table.

Leo insisted Olivia made the best frittatas and was eager to tell “Eddie” what they were.

At Deception, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) called Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) in hopes of meeting up for lunch, but he was too busy with a case at the hospital.

That left Brook Lynn concerned since she read about that dangerous case on her tablet.

Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) acknowledged that it never got easier being in love with a cop, but she assured Brook Lynn that you learn to live with it.

Talk turned to all the damage control Maxie had been trying to do in the aftermath of Sasha Gilmore’s (Sofia Mattsson) scandal.

Unfortunately, their products were still being moved to bottom shelves.

Maxie was just glad Sasha’s face wasn’t on The Deceptor box since it was the only thing saving Deception right now.

Once Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) arrived and cornered her granddaughter alone, Brook Lynn insisted The Deceptor was the only thing making a profit right now.

Although Brook Lynn warned that she wasn’t risking that for her grandmother’s agenda, Tracy fired back that BLQ would use her access and get her the info she wanted.

At GH, Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) saw Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) file and realized he was his next patient.

When Chase walked over, he showed Austin a picture of Gordon Stevens’ (Maurice Hall) body on his phone.

Austin said he recognized the guy as a former patient and mentioned Gordon’s outburst at the Port Charles Grill, which Ava Jerome (Maura West), Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) also witnessed.

Chase also showed Austin a picture of Dex since he’d been lurking, but Austin suggested he didn’t know anything about him.

In Cyrus’ room, he greeted Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) and learned Laura was somewhere in Europe right now.

Cyrus talked about Laura’s aura guiding him along with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), who did CPR and helped bring him back to the land of the living.

Now that Cyrus had a second chance, he announced that he’d given Martin the authority to access his trust.

Cyrus wanted Martin to give all his money away and explained how he wanted to help rehabilitate prisoners so they could learn to lead productive lives.

After his examination, Cyrus grabbed Austin’s wrist and ominously hoped that the Lord blessed the doc and his family.

It left Austin looking unsettled over what seemed to be a veiled threat.

Once Laura got updates from Martin over the phone, Kevin wondered if she was sure about facing the traumas of Cassadine Island.

Laura reassured Kevin and wanted to go there since it might be Nikolas’ perfect hiding spot.

In Sonny’s office, he had a phone call with someone about Gordon being a message since he was taken down in his territory.

Sonny thought maybe he should a send a message in response.

After a henchman appeared, Sonny got confirmation that a job was done and in the trunk, so Sonny headed out with him to make a delivery.

At Kelly’s, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) reassured Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) about Drew being OK behind bars.

There was talk about how hard it was to be away from the one you love when Sonny entered and caught Carly off guard.

Sonny chatted with Sam briefly before turning his attention to Carly alone.

After Sonny said he was there to make Carly an offer she couldn’t refuse, she accepted his delivery of a giant bag of Corinthos coffee.

When Carly quizzed Sonny about Ava and the weird nanny situation, Sonny insisted he was handling it.

Next, Chase showed up and got Sonny to come outside for a grilling session.

Although Chase asked about the body, Dex’s involvement and Austin’s story, Sonny dodged most of his questions and urged him to contact his attorney.

Back with Carly, she was surprised to see Maxie getting pastries there instead of the Metro Court like she usually did.

Maxie admitted that Nina told her Carly owned Kelly’s now, but she didn’t send her there.

Carly chose not to let the mention of Nina agitate her since she was on a more peaceful path now.

Maxie thought Carly was going to make Kelly’s even better, so Carly remained positive as well.

Once Sonny reconvened with Carly, he asked about Drew and learned she’d been to visit him. Carly assured Sonny that Drew was OK, but she got a shocking call after Sonny left.

Sam phoned Carly to let her know that Drew wasn’t allowed visitors until further notice.

Carly was stunned as Sam revealed that Drew was locked up in solitary confinement.

General Hospital spoilers say Drew’s misery will continue at Pentonville, so stay tuned for more prison news.
