ITV Emmerdale viewers ‘work out’ Chloe’s dad’s link to sinister past storyline

Emmerdale fans think they have rumbled a sinister past storyline involving Chloe Harris’ father, Damon, who was revealed to be criminal Harry last week.

Only recently, the identity of Chloe’s dad was finally revealed with fans told who he is in a major twist on Thursday. The ITV soap aired huge scenes as Chloe met up with her dad, who was thought to be called Damon when he was first mentioned back in 2021 – with him revealed to have been in prison, and out of Chloe’s life after she fled to be with her mother Kerry Wyatt. But in a major twist, her father was actually confirmed to be a familiar face, and a past soap villain.

In dramatic scenes, it was none other than Dingle enemy Harry, last seen on-screen in October when he was run over by Aaron Dingle. As the scenes played out on Thursday night, mid-way through the episode Chloe met with a mystery person after she had been talking on the phone to someone following her running away with baby son Reuben.

As Chloe met with the person in question a man stepped out, who she soon called “dad”. As the camera moved up to show who it was, Harry was shown on screen and he called Chloe “sweetheart”. It emerged Damon, who is called Harry by business associates, has kept tabs on Chloe for the last couple of years and about everything that had gone on – including Mack leaving her for Charity Dingle, as well as her horror crash in October.

Wanting to know why Chloe contacted him, he asked: “You’re not happy are you? Otherwise you wouldn’t be here, so why don’t you tell me what is really going on in your mind?” Chloe then explained she wanted to start a new life away from the village to get away from Mack for good. Asking for new IDs and passports, she asked if her dad could organise this – but it has since been hinted he has something else up his sleeve.

Soap watchers have been left suspicious of Damon knowing about Chloe’s horror crash in October. Viewers will recall at the time that a van randomly smashed into Chloe, Mack and Charity out of nowhere. Viewers are now wondering whether Damon was behind the stunt in a bid to get control over his daughter.

Taking to social media, one person said: “I got a feeling it was him in the white van that hit them when she had her accident as he was about then and he seems to know enough about it and we never seen the driver” to which a different account replied: “gosh … yes could have been or someone planted by him”, another put: “I agree as the van driver was never found or spoke about” while a different soap watcher added: “I agree there is something that isn’t adding up!”
