Three huge ITV Emmerdale theories: death fears for villager and explosive affair rocks the Dales

Mackenzie Boyd is set for major trouble as Chloe Harris' true revenge begins.

TROUBLEMAKING has its limits in the Dales as Mackenzie Boyd has clearly angered the wrong person once again.

But while he faces danger, another Emmerdale resident is met some more hard times that could push him over the edge.

1. Troublemaker is killed off

Lawrence Robb’s troublesome character has been wreaking havoc all throughout the eponymous ITV village and viewers have lost all sympathy for the treacherous heartthrob.

In recent months, Mackenzie Boyd has stooped to several lows, including infidelity and leaving the mother of his own son, Chloe Harris, to die in a horrific car crash after promising her a happy marriage and family life.

But in more recent instalments of the long-running show, Mackenzie has been a shell of himself since he was separated from Reuben and, in scenes airing this week, he storms out after an argument with a wound up Charity.

As he leaves, Mack insists he won’t be back for a while, leaving the Woolpack landlady in the dark about what his next step will be.

Soon enough, however, an unresponsive Mack sits bound to a chair in an abandoned factory, seemingly unbeknownst to anybody.

Who could have dragged him there and what are their plans?

Will Charity try to find Mackenzie or assume he has wandered off with another mystery woman?

As regular viewers of the Yorkshire-based drama will remember, Chloe (Jessie Elland) miraculously survived the car crash Mack had left her to perish in favour of another woman.

Sadly, happiness wasn’t in the cards for Chloe as Mack ended their relationship once he became fully aware of how much he still loved Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins).

Chloe vowed revenge after finding the pair in a loving embrace on Main Street and slapped Charity in the face.

She then decided to take baby Reuben away from the Dales to a place Mackenzie would never find him with a little help from her sister Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and her partner Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano).

Could she have decided that taking baby Reuben wasn’t enough to make Mack pay?

Viewers have been promised that Chloe’s father will also be making his own appearance in the village following her love triangle with Mackenzie and Charity?

The character has been shrouded in mystery since Chloe’s first arrival in the Dales but he has been reported to be dangerous, controlling and even criminal.

Could he be the one to avenge his daughter?

Could he kill Mackenzie off to punish him once and for all?

Will anybody be able to rescue him?

Or is this really the end of the line?

2. Shock affair

Tensions have been rising between Suni Sharma (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) and Nicky Milligan (Lewis Cope) after the former became the victim of a homophobic attack.

Suni has been furious with his partner due to the fact he’d been unable to help him during his beating.

Following recent scenes of the Yorkshire-based program, viewers have speculated that Suni may embark on a new affair with another villager.

And according to them, it could be none other than Ethan Anderson (Emile John).

Taking to X, as it became clear that Nicky and Suni were struggling to get along, one fan wrote: “I think Ethan and Suni could happen at some point.”

Another replied: “BINGO. Me too.”

A third tweeted: “After what seems like forever they’re starting to make Ethan’s character a tad interesting. I wonder if he and Suni will get together.”

Could they be on to something?

Or will Suni and Nicky manage to work on their issues?

3. Downward spiral begins

Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) was both shocked and surprised to see her son Aaron (Danny Miller) back in the eponymous village in October, 2023.

At the time, Aaron was tied up to a chair in an isolated barn by his uncles Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Caleb Milligan (Will Ash).

But when Aaron was finally able to find his mark again in the ITV Dales, he made it very clear he wasn’t the same man as he lashed out against everybody around him, including his own loved ones.

Coming up, local vicar Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) gets Chas to open up about her loneliness and the effect Aaron’s behaviour is having on her.

Soon, after Aaron has an altercation with Chas, a seething Charles orders him to show his mother respect.

But when Aaron goads him, a scuffle ensues and things get severely out of hand.

Later on, a sheepish Charles returns later to apologise to Chas for his outburst and she is happy she’s found a friend.

Meanwhile, Aaron finds himself a new target to bully and entices Ethan Anderson into Mill, seizing a chance to get in with Charles’ son.

However, Aaron soon crosses the line when he humiliates a smitten Ethan in front of his father.

Chas confronts Aaron about his behaviour and her response leaves him blindsided.

While Aaron and Chas’ exchange remains to be seen, actor Emile John revealed that his ITV alter ego would be going through some rough times as Ethan takes a dark turn.

Life in the Dales has been nothing but trouble for Ethan as he recently lost his job as a solicitor after helping Suni with his attacker.

Ethan was brought to prison due to his involvement in the altercation and, with his chequered past still casting a shadow over him, his hopes of a fruitful career as a solicitor were all dashed when he was sacked.

And with Aaron humiliating him in a bid to get back at both Chas and Charles, one could suggest he may retaliate in violent fashion.

What will Ethan do?

Is it too late to help him?

Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
