Tom King sparks concern as he makes bizarre decision after romantic proposal in Emmerdale
Viewers have been terrified Tom may hurt Belle as part of a harrowing abuse storyline. Could he be dangerous?
BELLE Dingle and Thomas King are taking their relationship to the next level as they get ready to walk down the aisle.
But the Emmerdale favourite is concerned when her beau makes a strange decision after she pops the question.
Thomas King (played by James Chase) has given viewers of the Yorkshire-based drama food for thought when he was shown physically lashing out against his partner, Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper).
However, Belle managed to see through the outburst and decided to keep giving their relationship a chance – a pattern many soap watchers are recognising as worrying as it could lead her to a hard-hitting abuse storyline.
As fans will recall, Tom proposed to Belle and, refusing to rush into things due to the shock of Craig Reed’s death, she refused.
This led to Tom letting his frustrations out by pushing her into a table, which left Belle hurt.
But in an upcoming trip to the Dales, Belle is encouraged by Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) to give the proposal another go until she’s scuppered yet again when Sam (James Hooton) drags her away for a birthday surprise.
With Leyla Harding’s (Roxy Shahidi) help, Belle forms a new plan.
The following day, a blindfolded Tom gets led onto an ice rink by Leyla.
He’s mesmerised when he sees that Belle has arranged a proposal with the help of Torvill and Dean.
Belle’s elated when Tom accepts her proposal and as Torvill and Dean skate over, he has his fanboy moment.
Later on, Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) congratulates Belle on the engagement.
Belle is surprised to hear Tom’s already announced it online.
Is she moving too fast?
As mentioned above, Thomas’ behaviour during his recent stint in the eponymous village has prompted viewers to speculate that Belle could be in danger by his side.
Many of them believe that Tom is incapable of controlling his temper and he could lash out again, letting his anger out on Belle in a violent fashion.
Thomas has recently had to face the off-screen death of his mother Colleen, who has been living in Saudi Arabia for the past decade.
Due to the mysterious nature of her passing, some fans have theorised that Tom may have been responsible.
But what is Tom really hiding?
Could he be harmless after all?
