Who died on Alaskan Bush People — Patriarch Billy Brown Passed at Age 68
While filming the most recent season of their series, Billy died after multiple health struggles. It was Bear Brown that broke the news saying the Browns are “heartbroken” to reveal that “patriarch Billy Brown passed away last night”.
The Discovery channel called Billy a “trailblazer” and “lovely man”. For years, Billy coped with seizures, among other health concerns. And it was a seizure that took his life. Billy Brown also suffered from breathing problems and kidney issues.
Billy’d been hospitalized in the past for his respiratory issues. In 2019, Alaskan Bush People star Billy needed surgery and Bear said then that things with his dad’s health were “worse.”
Billy was born on December 3, 1952, in Forth Worth, Texas. After 12 seasons of the family’s reality series, Billy Brown died on February 7, 2021. The family had him cremated after his passing.
Ami Brown Suffers Deaths in Family — Discovery Series Mom Loses 2
Despite Ami Brown suffering from advanced lung cancer, she’s surviving and thriving even after losing Billy. In early 2017, doctors diagnosed Ami after months of health issues. The family moved out of the bush to support her during treatment.
And the Alaskan Bush People matriarch survived. Unfortunately, she lost another loved one after Billy’s passing. That’s her niece, on September 19, 2021. Amber Nichole Branson was the daughter of Ami’s brother, Rene Branson.
In a terrible ordeal, Amber reportedly set herself on fire on April 29, 2020, after years of struggling with her mental health. When first responders found her with burns over 90% of her body, she called it a “faith test” and admitted it was self-inflicted.
Doctors said her injuries were not survivable so the family took her off life support on April 30 and Amber Brandon died on May 1, 2020. She was born on February 8, 1976. She was 44 when she took her life.
Two months later, Amber’s father — Ami’s brother — also died. Larry Rene Branson was born on December 28, 1953. Ami Brown also has a sister Jeana Williamson and another brother Les Branson that are still alive.
Rene died on July 22, 2020, of renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer). Alaskan Bush People matriarch Ami’s brother was 66 when he died. Then the following year, she lost her husband Billy.
