Darden students got dirty last Thursday, sorting through dumpster trash.   I am not making this up.  Of course, unlike real dumpster divers, who probably trespass and resell/eat what they find, the Darden kids got the white glove suit experience.  If you missed the irony, you shouldn’t miss the point of this dumpster dive: to realize how much of our trash is actually recyclable.

Now, to actually solve this problem (HELLO CHARLOTTESVILLE GOVERNMENT), let’s fine people for having unsorted trash, just like San Francisco’s plan.

This could get really crazy and really interesting…let cVillain see Cville in a whole new way.  We still have to choose which posts are uploaded, so the usual editorial guidelines apply.  Anyone think this is hot or not?

If you’ve been around Charlottesville long enough,  you realize that paying for parking is for tourists, college students, newbies or lazy  people.  It’s not that hard to find parking 1 or 2 blocks away from any destination site, be it the downtown mall, the corner or midtown.

We’re going to use this thread to solicit secret, free parking spots and we’ll put together a giant map of those free spots when we get everyone’s tips.  Please leave your secret parking spot in the comments and we’ll start building the map.

On October 26th, 2008, the Boys and Girls Club will hold their annual cycling challenge event.  This is a major fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club and we’re excited to have our own team this year.

Looks like the “Fire Groh” signs can go back up.  Maybe with UVA’s horrid record this year, the athletic department is trying to send the coaching staff a message?

What really doesn’t make sense is this quote from Littlepage, UVA’s athletic director:

The policy prohibiting signs, banners and flags in all UVa athletics venues has become a distraction and has taken the focus away from supporting our student-athletes. Our football team needs our support right now and that should be our collective focus. With that in mind, I am repealing immediately the policy prohibiting signs, banners and flags in all athletics venues. I encourage all of our fans to be in attendance at Saturday night’s football game with Maryland. My hope is our fans will wear orange and be prepared to support the Cavaliers.

So, you still think the signs are a distraction and don’t support UVA, but you remove the ban?
