General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, August 4, reveals that Nurse Deanna Sirtis (Dioni Michelle Collins) handed Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) an envelope that’d been left for her at GH.
Liz opened it up and saw that she should check yes or no for a dinner date this evening, so she checked yes and told Deanna to give it to Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton).
When Finn picked up the envelope and saw that Liz was on board with their date night, he hinted to Deanna about the good news.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth interrupted Austin Gatlin-Holt’s (Roger Howarth) conversation with Ava Jerome (Maura West) in the doc’s office.
Since Ava was there, Liz wondered if she’d heard anything from Nikolas Cassadine (last played by Adam Huss).
Ava insisted she hadn’t and that she didn’t expect to, so Liz thought it was weird for Nikolas to be MIA when he had a new baby in Port Charles.
Elizabeth also mentioned that she saw Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) lurking outside Austin’s office and then learned he found Gordon Stevens’ (Maurice Hall) body.
That’s why Liz sent Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) to Austin with questions.
Once Elizabeth was gone, Austin considered the possibility that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) had Gordon rubbed out.
Ava wondered if there had been anything for Dex to see at his office, so Austin admitted there might’ve been since Gordon and Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) were there waiting for him.
Austin recalled Mason saying that Gordon would get exactly what he owed, so Ava thought Mason might’ve been behind his demise.
Ava also complained about Austin digging a hole for himself since he’d have to create a fake patient file for Gordon now.
If the cops connected any of this to Mason, they could start poking around and uncover Nikolas-related info.
Austin once again asked if Ava told Sonny what she did to Nikolas, so she scrunched up her face in confirmation.
Although Austin worried that Sonny might send someone to silence him, Ava offered reassurance and shared a kiss with him.
Ava also warned Austin not to screw up before heading out the door.
On the terrace at the Metro Court, Elizabeth and Finn grew closer over dinner as they addressed the complications of their romance and looked forward to facing them together.
At Charlie’s Pub, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) showed up for some takeout, so Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) confirmed the order before talk turned to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).
Since Sonny loved Nina despite her mistakes, Kristina felt she was in no position to judge.
After Kristina said the heart wants what it wants, she reminded Michael that’s what happened in his own relationship with Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen).
At the Quartermaine gatehouse, Nina surprised Willow by showing up and seeing if she needed anything. Willow invited Nina in and confessed that she was trying to stay busy by learning to knit.
Once Willow talked about wanting to get back to the real world, Nina hoped that they could start over and wanted to learn more about who Willow truly was.
Willow missed mundane things while stuck in her bubble and planned to sign up for a Mommy and Me class with Amelia Corinthos (Bo Harrison) eventually.
Nina supported the idea and offered to order dinner for them from the Metro Court since Michael was running late.
Moments later, Michael returned with the takeout, so Nina took that as her cue to leave – though she indeed seemed to have made progress with Willow.
Once Willow was alone with Michael, she admitted she didn’t mind the ambush and hinted about being eager to get back to work once her doctor said she could.
Michael hoped that maybe they could focus on their family for a while, but Willow couldn’t turn her back on nursing.
That said, Willow assured Michael that their family was her priority and hugged him.
Back at Charlie’s Pub, Nina sat down at the bar and learned Kristina had spoken to Trish (Trish Ramish), who said Nina had been talking about Kristina’s youth center.
Nina immediately worried that she’d overstepped, but Kristina insisted she was touched over all the praise.
However, Kristina assured Nina that she didn’t have to do anything to win her over. Sonny loved Nina, so Kristina was on her side.
That meant a lot to Nina, but she clarified that she genuinely believed in the work Kristina was doing and wasn’t trying to score points.
If there was anything Nina could do to help, she wanted to do it.
After Nina mentioned her visit with Willow and Michael’s usual frosty reaction, Kristina suggested that he’d soften in time.
Nina hoped she could prove herself to Michael, so Kristina suggested that maybe she wouldn’t be the only one at the wedding.
In Greece, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) did a thorough search of the house on Cassadine Island, but there was no sign of Nikolas.
Laura considered the possibility that maybe Nikolas wasn’t hiding by choice and that something happened to him. Kevin suggested maybe one of Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) associates had Nik.
Laura worried that perhaps she just didn’t want to believe Nikolas had willingly disappeared again.
Kevin wished they could let Nikolas know it was all right to show his face, so Laura got an idea of where to go next.
When Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) returned home, she found Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and shared a reunion kiss with him.
Valentin quizzed Anna about the drama at the Metro Court pool, so she shared the details – including the WSB’s possible connection.
Valentin suggested that Victor might’ve set this in motion and reflected on Anna saving him from heading down the wrong path.
Anna confessed her love for Valentin, who admitted he didn’t find Nikolas on the trip and ultimately got passionate with her.
General Hospital spoilers say Anna will launch a Pikeman investigation soon, so stay tuned for updates on what she’ll uncover.
