New Doctor Who Images Preview Ncuti Gatwa’s First Seasonal Special

New Doctor Who images give a look at Ncuti Gatwa in the Christmas special. Gatwa will soon take over as the Fifteenth Doctor in the series. He follows David Tennant, who has returned to Doctor Who as the Fourteenth Doctor for the Doctor Who 60th anniversary specials.

BBC reveals new images of Gatwa and his companion for the upcoming Doctor Who holiday special.

In one image, Gatwa stands in a snowy environment with the glint of lights in the background. The other image gives a glimpse at the actor beside Millie Gibson, who will play his companion in the series.

What To Expect From The Doctor Who Holiday Special

This year’s seasonal episode will arrive after the three Doctor Who 60th anniversary specials. In the seasonal special, the Fifteenth Doctor will have his first adventure with companion Ruby Sunday, played by Gibson in the show. The special will air on Christmas Day, giving a first look at the new Time Lord and his companion in advance of Doctor Who season 14.

Nothing has been revealed thus far in the way of the plot for this seasonal special, titled “The Church on Ruby Road.” The images simply establish the Doctor Who special’s winter setting and confirm that Ruby Sunday and the Fifteenth Doctor will band together for an adventure in the episode.

The images do confirm which costume Gatwa will wear for his Doctor Who debut. In the publicity for season 14, it was revealed that the Fifteenth Doctor will have multiple outfits, straying from the more typical single-outfit fare of previous Doctors. In this special, Gatwa will sport a classic and sleek red-brown coat. What adventures the Time Lord will embark on in this outfit remain to be seen as the Christmas Day release of the Doctor Who seasonal special approaches.
