Days Of Our Lives Villain Dilemma: Who Will Step Up After Victor, Stefano Deaths?

Days of Our Lives Victor Kiriakis

“Days of Our Lives” spoilers suggest that Salem may be getting a bit dull without the presence of a true villain. The deaths of Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) and Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) leave a huge whole in the soap opera’s storylines. Without Salem’s two most iconic villains, the sudser risks growing stagnant. However, that can be easily fixed.

Although “DOOL” fans know that Stefano and Victor have been about as sinister as a soap villain can be, they’re both gone. Current fans need a new villain to love and loathe. Of course, members of the Kiriakis and DiMera families to step up seems like the easy choice. The next great Salem villain could be someone such as EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel). EJ’s brother Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) is another great choice. Both men have proven to be ruthless and scheming in the past.

Days of Our Lives EJ and Stefan DiMera

Days of Our Lives villain debate: Will EJ or Stefan follow in Stefano’s footsteps?

“Days of Our Lives” viewers know that Stefano’s sons EJ and Stefan are likely to get their hearts broken in the near future. EJ is currently engaged to Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker), whom he believes is carrying his child. However, Nicole is secretly pregnant with Eric Brady’s (Greg Vaughan) baby. When the news comes out, EJ will be devastated. Even Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) has proven herself to be an iconic Salem villain.

Meanwhile, Stefan’s wife Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus) is set to leave the show. Gabi could be killed off or kidnapped. Something bad seems like it’s bound to happen. Either event could send the brothers into a spiral, leaving them headed straight into their villain era and never looking back.

DOOL fans could see Xander or Philip become Salem’s new big bad

The Kiriakis family is also full of troublemakers. Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) has proven to be a criminal mind. He’s kidnapped, attempted to kill, and more over the years. Of course, Philip Kiriakis (John Paul Lavoisier) is also a schemer. Recently, Philip faked his own death in hopes of framing Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) for the murder. This proves Philip will do whatever it takes to get what he wants.

Although The Kiriakis and DiMera’s are Salem’s most criminally-charged families, “Days of Our Lives” may need some new blood. Bringing in a brand new villain who will terrorize Salem for decades to come could be the right move at this point. Casting a brand new character to arrive in Salem under mysterious circumstances and cause chaos for beloved characters could be just what the sudser needs at this point in time.
