Days of Our Lives Recap: Thursday, July 20 – Confession Trap Fails, Positive Pregnancy Test and Passion Delayed

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, July 20, reveals that Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) and Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) were surprised by how much they had in common as they continued their date at Small Bar.

Unfortunately, Li grew suspicious when Melinda kept pushing him to confess to bringing Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) back to Salem and plotting to get rid of Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash).

Li finally looked in Melinda’s clutch and found a recording device, so he blew his top and stormed out.

Afterward, Melinda drank alone and scolded herself for screwing up her chance at dating someone she actually connected with.

At home on Thursday’s Days episode, Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) took a call from Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) and agreed to cancel their dinner reservation at The Bistro since he was stuck at the hospital.

However, Tripp later got someone to cover his shift and came home to Wendy, so they were on the sofa together when things turned passionate.

Before Wendy and Tripp could take things to the bedroom, Li showed up complaining about his disastrous date.

Once Tripp was alone with Wendy again, he suggested postponing their first time together since he wanted it to be special and only about them. Wendy was definitely on board with that plan.

As Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty) returned to her apartment, she spoke to Colin Bedford (Jasper Newman) over the phone about his looming trial and offered updates on her situation with Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan).

Since Eric still didn’t know he might be the father of Nicole Walker’s (Arianne Zucker) baby, Sloan said that he was completely in the dark.

Sloan’s comment surprised Eric, who was on the couch waiting for her when she walked through the door.

It forced Sloan to cover, so she eventually said she was a couple days late and might be pregnant.

Sloan figured they could wait a few more days before getting a pregnancy test, but Eric seemed excited and rushed right out to the pharmacy.

After Eric returned with a pregnancy test, Sloan took it and waited for the results with him. Once two lines appeared, Sloan told Eric they were having a baby and got a bit emotional as they embraced.

At the DiMera mansion on Thursday’s DOOL show, Nicole told EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) that they could find out if they were having a boy or a girl at their appointment tomorrow – that is if they wanted to know.

EJ indeed wanted to find out, but Nicole was hesitant since that would make this feel real.

After so many losses, Nicole was worried about getting emotionally attached to this baby.

Nevertheless, EJ felt like Nicole should cherish every moment of this pregnancy and hoped she could let herself accept that it was reality soon.

As for the baby’s gender, Nicole assumed EJ wanted a boy, but he explained all the reasons why he’d love a little girl, too. Besides, the baby’s health was the most important thing.

In the town square on Thursday’s Days episode, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) reassured Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) over the phone that he’d find Lani Grant (Sal Stowers) before the prison knew she was missing.

Moments later, Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) appeared, so he sat down with Rafe and got him to confirm he lost his job because he was dating Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu).

Johnny had sympathy over the job loss, but he was glad Rafe had found someone.

Rafe asked if Johnny was still dating Wendy, but Johnny said that was over and that she was with Tripp now.

During their conversation, Johnny let it slip about Nicole’s pregnancy and the fact that Eric was in the running to be the father before the DNA test confirmed EJ was the bio dad.

Rafe was shocked over the news and ultimately invited Johnny to have some beers with him at the pub.

Next on Thursday’s Days episode, Talia Hunter (Aketra Sevillian) joined Jada at the pub following her community service and assured her that Rafe’s job loss wasn’t her fault.

Talia was curious about what Rafe was like in bed, so Jada finally gushed over how great the lovemaking was right as Rafe walked in with Johnny.

Jada was embarrassed, but Rafe insisted it was always nice to get positive feedback.

Rafe also had a favor to ask since he needed help to find Lani and couldn’t go through the Salem PD, so Jada was willing to secretly pitch in.

Over with Johnny, he joined Talia at a table and filled her in on Rafe being his former stepdad.

Talia assumed Johnny hated her guts because of what she did to Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens), but Johnny didn’t know her well enough to hate her.

That said, Johnny didn’t like the fact that Talia hurt someone he cared about. Talia let Johnny know how awful she felt about how she treated Chanel and made it clear nothing like that would happen again.

Johnny thought that was good since Talia would have to deal with him if it did, so she seemed to understand why he was being protective of Chanel.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Talia and Johnny could get closer if they keep getting one-on-one scenes like this, so stay tuned to DOOL.
