In a heartbreaking development, veteran soap actor Billy Miller has reportedly died at just 43 years of age.
The news was first shared by Michael Fairman, who revealed that the Emmy winning actor had passed away on Friday, September 15.
No cause of death has been reported for the talented star, who got his start in soaps playing Richie Novak on All My Children in 2007, before moving on to wow Young & Restless fans as the troubled Billy Abbott in 2008. Miller stayed in that role until 2014, when he exited following an intense storyline involving his character and Adam Newman (then played by Michael Muhney). While at Young & Restless, Miller won the Outstanding Supporting Actor emmy in both 2010 and 2014.
Fans of Young & Restless will long remember his unforgettable chemistry with Amelia Heinle’s Victoria, as it was his version of the Abbott offspring who fell in love with the Newman one fateful New Year’s Eve.
Miller next joined General Hospital, where he turned up as a John Doe in the hospital, only to later be revealed as first Jason Morgan, and then Drew Cain. In 2018 he earned a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor for his portrayal of Jason Morgan. He stayed on the soap for four years before departing and moving on more permanently to primetime.
He only took on a few roles during and after his time on General Hospital, but they were memorable stints for anyone lucky enough to catch him on Suits, The Rookie, or NCIS.
All of us here at SheKnows Soaps extend condolences and love to Miller’s loved ones and his former co-workers and castmates in the wake of this tragic loss.
