General Hospital spoilers indicate Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) has no idea who she’s in love with. Rather, she has no idea who the man she loves used to be in life with.

Martin ‘Marty’ Grey (Michael E. Knight) has never made it a secret that he’s been married and divorced three times. In fact, it’s the very reason he’s given Lucy as to why he never wants to marry again.

But wrapped up in his lie about his mysterious third wife is a hefty $50K a month he’s receiving to be this woman’s ex-husband. That’s a lot of alimony, which signals that his third wife was quite wealthy — something Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) has already confirmed. What she got wrong was why he was being paid.

General Hospital Spoilers — Alimony Trumps Love?

Anna threw out a pretty considerable accusation when she blurted out how rich Marty’s third wife was, and that it was actually he who was being paid alimony by her. But does Anna actually know this to be true?

When she went digging into Marty’s past in search of information she could blackmail him with, she stumbled upon the same thing Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) did going through his trash.

Marty was receiving some handsome payments from one Jackson ‘Jack’ Montgomery’s (Walt Willey) office in Pine Valley. Sure, Anna knows the guy but she would never have asked him to compromise himself and break the law by divulging what the payments were for or who they came from.

Anna just connected the dots based on who Marty used to be married to and came up with her own conclusion. She has no idea it’s the wrong one.

GH Spoilers Leak The Deceptor is a Bigger Lie

Marty might have been married to cosmetics mogul Erica Kane (Susan Lucci). It makes the most sense. She was the most prominent woman in the industry back in Pine Valley and had close personal and professional ties to Jack.

Moreover, she would have given Marty insight into a product like The Deceptor. Is it possible some proprietary plans for it already exist, and Marty sold them to her ages ago — repeating the benefits with her continued payments although she hadn’t yet launched such a device?

General Hospital Spoilers — Will Lucy Forgive Marty?

Marty didn’t want any recognition for coming up with this idea because he had already sold it to his ex-wife. It makes sense now why he never wanted Lucy to credit him for it. In addition, it makes sense that he didn’t want to remarry or his ex may have turned her glance in his direction when the news broke.

Lucy is every bit as world-famous as Erica is, after all. Marty needs to keep his ties to Lucy on the down low if he doesn’t want Erica to link him to The Deceptor and know he sold the same device plans to someone else.

Meanwhile, this news is going to potentially cripple Deception, which has only been able to relaunch and gain traction again because of this latest invention.
